Windows 10: Laptop Monitor Exposure increases whenever not plugged in?

Hi,Recently, my computer was getting a bit messed up, so I wanted to try and fix it up a bit. I'm not sure exactly what I did, but now, whenever I restart my computer or keep it unplugged, the exposure gets noticeably brighter. It doesn't get in the way of what I do, but it is slightly annoying, because it's never done this before. One thing I've noticed is that it only affects the active window, although it spans across the entire display of the computer. If I have a window of Google Chrome, only the exposure of that Chrome window will be affected, but if I minimize it, then my desktop and ba

Cannot connect my monitor

Describe the steps you are taking to add this monitor. It is supposed to be "plug and Play".

If you can, give us a screen capture of the message. Or the FULL and EXACT error message text.

Alternate procedure:

• Try plugging the monitor to the computer with the power off on both the computer and the monitor.
  
• Power up the monitor.
  
• Power up the computer.

Laptop Screen goes dark when I Plug in or plug out.

To understand the issue better, let me know what is the model number of the laptop?

This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

• Outdated or corrupt driver.
• Missing Windows Updates.

Try the steps listed here:

Method 1:

I suggest you to install all the available Windows Updates and check if it helps.

Method 2:

If the issue persists, I suggest you to download and install all the latest device drivers including graphics and chipset driver from the computer manufacturer website.

Laptop display and monitor will not wake when HDMI cable plugged into laptop.

I have a laptop. Lenovo ideapad FLEX 4-1480 Signature Edition.

The laptop has a display, and the laptop is connected to a monitor via an HDMI cable.

Sleep mode is disabled.

Screen timeout is enabled.

I lock the computer. The laptop display and monitor both eventually deactivate.

I move the mouse and press keys to wake the monitor. Nothing happens on either the laptop display or the monitor.

If the HDMI cable is not plugged into the laptop, the laptop display will wake as intended. The problem happens only when the HDMI cable is plugged into the laptop.

I have to remove the HDMI cable from the laptop, wait a few seconds, reinsert it, then the laptop display and monitor will wake. Again, the laptop display will wake just fine when the HDMI cable is not plugged in.
