Windows 10: Laptop monitor stopped working

Hi,while watching some videos on the web i fell asleep and when i woke up laptop screen didn't function. Managed to connect hdmi cable and connect another monitor to check for problems and found it under device manager that the device was not migrated.Tried to reinstall, updating, ran some cmd diagnostic. quite afraid to reset bios as im sure i wont be able connect my second monitor while its in bios.Heres detailsevice settings for DISPLAY\Default_Monitor\5&1c846b57&0&UID4353 were not migrated from previous OS installation due to partial or ambiguous device match. External monitor stopped working suddenly

I have been using an external monitor with my Lenovo laptop. Today it suddenly stopped working. I have tried the following:

- connected the monitor and the laptop with an HDMI cable (does not work)

- connected the monitor to docking station, which is connected to the laptop (does not work)

- connected another laptop to the docking station (works)

- connected another laptop to the monitor using HDMI (works)

Obviously, the probelm is not cable or the monitor (or the HDMI port on the non working laptop since it doesn't work with the docking station either).

I have tried restarting the laptop, removing the driver, updating the driver, rolling it back. Nothing has worked.

Any suggestions?

 

Laptop suddenly stopped recognizing the external monitor

To assist you better, I would like to ask if the laptop is unable to recognize only the external monitor or other external devices also.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on “Hardware and Devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Dual Monitor setup stopped working

• What is the OS Build of your Windows 10? To determine the build of your Windows 10, follow these steps:
  • Click the Windows logo (Start button).
  • Click the gear icon (Settings).
  • Select System.
  • On the left pane, choose About.
• Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
• How are your monitors connected to the computer? Are your monitors connected to the built-in slot of your motherboard or are they connected to the slot of your video card?
• If you're using a desktop, what cables are using to connect your monitors to the computer?
  
• What is happening when you're using a dual monitor set up? Is one of your monitors working? If so, have you checked if the other monitor will work when you use it by itself?

If possible, send a picture of the issue for us to further investigate your concern.
