Windows 10: Laptop Mouse Touch pad is not working

Hi, this is Rahul Meena. A few days ago, I opened my laptop and noticed that my touchpad was not working. After searching for a solution, I found the following method to fix the issue:Right-click on the Start Menu and select 'Device Manager.'Click on 'View' and choose 'Show hidden devices.'Expand 'Mice and other pointing devices' or 'Human Interface Devices.'Right-click on your touchpad driver and select 'Uninstall device.'Check 'Delete the driver software for this device.'Click 'Uninstall' to confirm.Restart your PC.After restarting, Windows should automatically reinstall the touchpad driver.

Touch pad not working. I have tried everything.

I have a semi new Lenovo laptop ThinkPad T450s with a new hard drive. After installing Windows 10 the touch pad doesn't work. It did however work before. I have spent all day trying to read up on how I may solve this to no avail. Therefore I am writing my own help request. Here is a list of things I have tried;


Not Fn + F5
tried updating drives
not in device manager
not in control panel - mouse properties doesn't give me touch pad option (picture 2) nor is it anywhere in the control panel under deivices to be found
Activated in BIOS
I tried taking some steps I read online in the Registration Entries but files seemed to be missing (perhaps here is the problem) but only ended up making my USB mouse to stop working so that didn't do the trick.
Synaptic pointing device is under View and show hidden devices.
Not sure what to do about the yellow exclamation mark but it says error "This device is not present, is not working properly or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"

Touch pad not working while external mouse is working.

It is not uncommon for designs to do what yours does. The logic is that if you connect a mouse, you do NOT want the touch pad to work. Lots of people have a problem on laptops because their hand inadvertently touches the touch pad while typing. They
need a way to shut down the touch pad. Besides a very large percentage of laptop users use mice instead of the touch pad.
