Windows 10: Laptop mute button light not turning on.

I have recently developed an issue with my laptop. Whenever I press the mute button f6 the audio is muted, but the little light next to it does not turn on. I have tried updating windows and reinstalling graphics, keyboard, and audio drivers. I have an HP Pavilion 15z Touch. I do not believe this is a hardware issue because I had this happen before when a windows update messed up the graphics driver which in turn impacted the audio. I do not know how this was fixed, because I took no action to fix it. Not sure if that relates to this or not.

Volume Mute Light won´t change color

Before I follow your suggestions, a quick update: as the updating didn´t seem to work I stopped trying and just left it alone for awhile. About a half hour later I looked over and saw that the mute light was now blue. I tried the button but it and the volume buttons did not work at all. On the screen I was told that I needed to reboot, which I did and now the system has returned back to the way it was before: everything works except that the mute light does not change to blue as it should when the speakers are not muted. WTF?

HI; with MS latest updates, about 2 days ago, my light for my mute button does not go on.

It simply, 'went out'. Any idea how I get it back on.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you, Thank you so much for your valuable question please, First of all I would suggest you to reinstall the audio drivers and see if it helps,
