    Laptop Not Detecting Headset Microphone (Turtle Beach Recon 70)


    So, for the past couple of days the audio quality for my headset has been on the decline; I've tried absolutely everything I could think of or dig up, but I'm not necessarily tech savvy so what I've done is limited; my laptop only recognizes the default Realtek Audio devices, both input and output, and the audio quality is poor at best, with even the default microphone volume/pick up being under 10/extremely low.

    I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling ALL of my audio drivers, both one by one and all at once, disabling and re-enabling the same way, rolling them back (which made the quality worse!), etc.

    When I check recording devices, Windows 10 doesn't recognize my headset at ALL. I saw another thread with a similar issue where someone installed "Waves MaxxAudio Service" to their Dell laptop, though mine is Acer, and following this step by step; I don't remember getting a pop-up to set it up, could I potentially try that? Is there an equivalent for Acer/intel laptops that would work just as well to get the pop-up to show up again so I make sure I install the headset properly?

    "This" being the solution in the thread I saw below:
    If you have a dell Laptop you need to make sure that if you have Waves MaxxAudio Service ... that it's enabled in the start up tab in Task Manager (to get there) - right click on your Taskbar and select Task Manager and go to the start up tab and enable it if it's disabled or press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and select Task Manager and go to the start up tab...

    Then restart your PC/Laptop and when you plug your headset in a pop up will appear and you need to choose the option relevant to you for me it was a Headset - don't get it mixed up with the Headphones option.

    Turtle Beach Recon 50x Mic not working

    Hello, I bought a Turtle Beach Recon 50X Headset (connecting to computer through 3.7 jack, mic connecting to headset with 3.7 jack) My microphone is not working. I have already trouble shooted everything I can. I am running a black HP Omni220 All-In-One
    PC on Windows 10. I am debating on weather or not to call a Microsoft Support rep. about this issue.
