Windows 10: Laptop not powering properly

My laptop, which is only about 2 months old, was charging and working fine until I updated to Windows 11 version 24H2. Since the update, it no longer charges properly it only works when the charger is plugged in. If I unplug it, the laptop shuts down immediately. I’ve already tried uninstalling the update without success and reinstalled the battery drivers, but the issue persists. Could this be caused by a bug in the latest Windows update?

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?

As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you run the power troubleshooter. Below are the steps:

• Type troubleshoot in the search bar.
• Under Find and fix other problems, look for and select
  Power.
• Click the Run the troubleshooter button, and follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Laptop no longer hibernates on critical power

Hi Mike,

The laptop's battery is possibly wearing out. Since you haven't change any settings, we suggest that you change the critical battery level a bit higher so that your laptop can perform a hibernation on a much higher percentage than the default. Follow the
steps below:

• Type Power Options on the Start menu search bar.
• Under Battery, click on Critical battery level.
• Chang the default percentage to 10% or higher.
• Click on Apply.
