    laptop not responsive after recent Windows and MS Edge update May2020


    My fairly new Dell Inspirion nov 2019 is not responsive after a recent Windows update on 10 May. The system installed the new updates and launched into MS Edge and abruptly ended function. I have rebooted several times but I get either a frozen screen, a blank screen or a screen that goes to white. It's as if all the RAM is not available. I was trying to get to settings to then uninstall the latest update but it seems fruitless. Please help.

    Disappearance of Microsoft Edge: suggested MS team response

    My first response was to go to the MS Store and attempt to download the Edge App, but there isn't one.

    I suggest that the MS team get a patch up as an Edge App at the Store ASAP.

    And how about cluing Cortana, so that when users such as I ask to "Start Edge" or "Pin Edge to Start", Cortana provides the intelligent service of saying "Opps, we've got a problem at our end but here's a temporary kluge."
