Windows 10: Laptop picks up lower wifi signal

Hello,I moved to a new apartament with 3 other roommates, we got ourselves a fiber internet connection with a 1 Gbps speed. First two weeks my wifi worked fine, the router is one room from me, signal was 4/4 bars. Since last monday, my network card barely picks up signal, previously speedtests showed ~600mbps download speed with 8ms latency. Now it's within 100mbps range and results in higher latency. I tried any fix that I found online, nothing seems to work, i will try to narrow it down:Reinstalled my network card drivers, tried searching for newer drivers through my laptop manufacturer's d

Wifi signal is lower than before

I have a strange problem with my HP laptop running Windows 10, anniversary update installed. This problem started only after the anniversary update performed.

01. Whenever I connect my Laptop to a Wifi network it shows full signal strength in the task pane but, when I click the Wifi icon there to see all the available networks, it shows the real signal strength is far less than the full signal strength which is seen
in the task pane.

02. After updating latest the drivers for the network adapter in the Device Manager, the rate of signal that my PC receives is significantly lower than it was before, thus making it difficult to use the Wifi away from the router where I used to operate before.

I use PROLiNK H5004NK router and Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter with the latest driver being version 5.0.57.0.

Your help and feedback are highly appreciated.

 

WIFI signal

Would the newest Windows 10 update cause my older Toshiba Satelite laptop to not be able to recognize my WIFI signal? Since about mid-May, my Xfinity WIFI signal is not displayed in the Network Internet access popup box. I can see many of my neighbors'
signals at a much lower intesity. I can see and connect to this signal on my phone and the ethernet connection to my modem also works fine.

Thanks for your reply. When, I took a look at what you suggest. I see two ethernet cables?

I also read, the spec's. It says, something about a router?

All, I have is a computer. All by itself. It is, connected to nothing, That's what WiFi is for.

What, I want to find. Is a,WiFi booster. That plugs into an AC outlet.

Picks up the WiFi signal. And, boosts it back into the air wirelessly.

My computer, then picks up the stronger, WiFi signal.
