Windows 10: Laptop problems

Hey all,

Need a little insight as my mother in laws laptop is acting strangely.

It’s an Acer E5-511. Running with an intel Pentium Quad N3540 at 2.16GHZ. Has 8GB Ram and 1TB HDD. Probably has standard board graphics too.

Recently she’s been telling me that it’s been running really slow and keeps freezing. Also it will periodically be running while the laptop is closed over instead of going into standby. I assumed the running slow was due to low ram as it comes standard with 4GB so I doubled it to 8GB but she still says it’s slow and takes ages to do things.

The HDD is barely even filled as it’s only pictures and some music she has on it so I thought it wouldn’t be that. Antivirus and malware scans are coming up clean too.

Any ideas what to look for? I just think it’s her as I don’t have a problem with it every time I go to look at it.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
