Windows 10: laptop prompt for bitlocker recovery key after win 11 updates

My acer aspire laptop is being auto encrypted with bitlocker after running windows 11 updates overnight.As the updates is taking long time to complete, i left the windows update running overnight. After the updates is completed the next morning, i boot up my laptop and was prompted to enter recovery key. I was not prompted that bitlocker encryption will be pushed down with the windows update. I have also checked my microsoft one drive account did not received any recovery pin. My laptop was signed in to my hotmail account which i suspect that caused microsoft to force the encryption of my lap

2. Are you aware of any changes being made to the PC?
   
3. Which version of Windows is installed on the PC?
   
4. What is the make and model of the PC?
   

This issue can be caused if a BIOS/firmware update has been pushed to your PC either through Windows Updates or any other OEM media update.



If you have set up the Bitlocker on your PC, I suggest you to look for the recovery key on your Microsoft account. Also, you can refer the article

Bitlocker Recovery Key

No, no other accounts.

What puzzles me is why the Bitlocker recovery key is not listed on the microsoft account, but there is a recovery key listed there for a computer I do not recognise.

I have several laptops but only the HP Envy has had Bitlocker on it. So what key is this on my account? And why isn't the Envy key there?
