    Laptop RAM


    Need help. Ihave Lenovo Y520 laptop with I7-7700hq, 1050 Ti, 1tb hdd and 128gb ssd. It has 8 gb installed and 7.9gb usable (thats normal) RAM, however, in past month I have noticed lowered mperformance, random crashes. When checking out task manager it shows that Im using around 40-50% idle which is quite a lot. I sorted all processes by used memory and checked out how many % and how much actual RAM they use. And the result is 2 gb equals 50% which means total is 4gb which isnt really equal to installed 8 gb. Tested multiple times, always almost same data. Thats not how it should be, right? Anyone knows what could be the problem and how to fix it?

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    To RAM or not to RAM...

    Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

    Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin Laptop RAM :D
