Windows 10: Laptop screen constantly flickers when connecting a second monitor

We recently bought an Msi laptop MSI Modern 14 B11MOU, when we connect it to a external screen Viewsonic VA2419 the screen on the laptop starts flickering like when you connect any laptop to a external screen until windows detects it, but in this case it just keeps flickering, the only way we can get it to work is when we turn off the screen at a certain point and then turn it on again and it atarts working flawlesly, both screens are set at 60hz refresh rate and the issue only occurs when we try to extend the monitors, when we duplicate the screens it works fine. This issue doesnt happen

Flickering and blinking laptop screen

I'm using a laptop with Windows 10 and an Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adaptor. A few days ago I attached a Dell D3000 dock to my laptop, and almost immediately my laptop screen started to flicker and repeatedly blink off and on again. I disconnected the dock, which did not resolve the problem, and since then I've tried various techniques to fix the problem, but none of them have worked. In order, this comprised of:

1. attempting system restore - but all five restore points were corrupted (?!);
2. updating the driver for the Intel display adaptor;
3. rolling back the driver for the Intel display adaptor;
4. uninstalling the driver for the Intel display adaptor;
5. downloading Windows 10 from the Microsoft site and re-installing it.

The problem has persisted even when I disconnected everything from my laptop, took it to my workplace, and switched it on there (using its battery for power); so the following possible reasons can be ruled out: its location in my house, any attached peripherals, a faulty power cable.

I am certain the problem is in some way connected to the Intel HD Graphics 4600 display adaptor:

1. after I completely uninstalled it - which reverted the graphics card to the standard Microsoft one - the screen didn't flicker or blink once afterwards (I left the laptop switched on for about an hour without incident, whereas previously I would experience as many as ten 'events' a minute). This rules out a possible damaged connection between the body of the laptop and its screen. However, when Windows auto-installs updates it reinstates the Intel one...
2. ...and when the laptop is switched on the screen flickers and repeatedly blinks off and on again...
3. ...although, strangely, connecting an external monitor to the laptop (HDMI to HDMI) results in neither the laptop screen nor the external monitor flickering or blinking. The problem returns when I disconnect the HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the laptop.

I now have the inescapable feeling that when I attached the dock I somehow fried the Intel display adaptor, and it isn't possible to fix it: I have read in the forums that replacing the graphics card on a laptop is well-nigh impossible. But if anyone else can suggest an approach I haven't yet tried I'd be very receptive!

As an aside, I contacted the retailer and they have sent me all of the drivers that are available for my system, but I don't know how to install them.

 

Laptop screen flicker

I noticed that the screen on my laptop flickers every now and then. when it does it, it looks like part of the image cuts out or is garbled. Really, it happens to fast to be able to tell for sure. Oddly enough, it seems to always be towards the bottom of the screen that it happens.

Even weirder is I have a external monitor connected to the system via the docking station. The screen connected will also flicker. As a test, I opened the screen on my laptop while it was on the docking station. The screen set up was to duplicate the displays so the same exact thing appears on both displays. What makes this so weird is that one screen will flicker, and the other wont. One will flicker, then shortly after the other one will, but I never noticed them both flicker at the same time.

Ive already tried a couple different drivers from NVIDIA, they havent made a difference. NVIDIA Optimus (the switchable graphics) is currently disabled so the system just uses the Quadro. The specs for this system are under the second system specs connected to my post.

 

Monitor flickering when connected to HDMI

I have the Gaming Laptop Acer predator 15, here are the specs:





My issue is that when ever i connect my laptop to a monitor the screen flickers every few seconds or more often when I start a video, for example if I open a new video on YouTube, as soon as the video has loaded the screen flickerers
2 to 3 times before the video starts. The cable and the monitor I use work fine if I use them with other pc.

I did try some suggestions like:

1. Check if your video card driver is updated as well as Windows update.
2. Run Hardware troubleshooter by going to Control Panel
   > search Troubleshooting > click
   View All > Hardware and
   Devices.
3. Use other HDMI cable if possible

but nothing work. I still have the same problem and I did try other monitor and other cable but nothing work.

Any suggestions i should try?
