Windows 10: Laptop screen has blue tint

It helps a little bit, but generally my screen keeps that blue tint just less blue-ish.

I don't think the "MSI True color Calibration for Photo editing" thread isn't a solution for me. The second one could be. I'm trying to find MSI True Color but I'm not sure if it is available for me laptop.

What bothers me now is that I don't know whether this is a settings issue or a hardware issue...

The DeltaE 2000 color deviation is 9.74 out-of-the-box. A value of less than 3 is desirable. In addition, the display is bluish. The color profile that we have provided will improve the color precision. It can be installed by double clicking it. However, you should check whether your device uses the same display model (manufacturer + model number) as our test model...

I installed the profile and it didn't really fix it. My screen was too orange/dark-ish, not really better. I think I have a different model. Anyway, a ICC profile that is made for my display could maybe improve my screen but I don't know how to find one or create one myself. In the mean time I will search for one.

 

Wow! I am so sorry you're having to keep struggling with this issue. You'd think that buying a new laptop would solve it instantly. Hope your persistence eventually pays off. Best wishes,

Yeah, I didn't expect such screen in a 950 dollar laptop.

According to the reviewer of this laptop (MSI GL62M 7RD-077 Notebook Review - NotebookCheck.net Reviews) it is possible to improve it with the right ICC profile. Is there any way where I can find the right profile? Or create one myself? Any other suggestions of improving the screen or welcome but I think we used them all now, haha.

 

I suspect the following isn't gonna be helpful, as the same problem ocurred on a new laptop, but my girlfriend's old machine had the same problem. Blue haze over the screen which didn't show when projecting to the TV. Then some tech-muppet told her she'd better back up everything because the machine was about to die.
I'll spare you the whole nonsensical history, but it turns out that jiggling the lid did the trick. Faulty wiring or something akin to that. Find the sweet spot when opening the lid and we're good to go, just don't type too hard...
We never actually fixed it, since we basically use it to watch Ink Master and that's it, so I don't have a solution for you besides: Jiggle it.

 

I'm sure my laptop isn't about to die, it is a few days old! If I don't find a solution soon I will reach out to a ICT shop.

 

I never showed any examples of my problem. See the attached images. Those are black and white images, but on my screen they are black, white and light blue-ish.

 

Small update, I returned the MSI and bought a HP. FINALLY, a good display! I'm a happy man again. Thanks EdTittel and Kpat62 for trying to find a solution.

 

Sometimes, you just have to give up and move onto something else. VERY glad you finally found a workable, if drastic, solution.
