Windows 10: Laptop screen went blank during nvidia driver update and after forced shut down and restart...

I have an ASUS GL502VY laptop with windows 10. I just installed the NVIDIA app for updating the graphic card driver and using the app I started installing the newest driver. During the installation the screen went blank and didn't come back. I tried forced shutdown and it turned off. But now when I turn the laptop on, it only shows the ASUS logo and doesn't go further. I tried going to safe mode and uninstalling the graphics card driver. After exiting safe mode the laptop worked just fine and started normally. But after a minute or two it went completely blank again. Is there a solution for th

Black Screen During Driver Update

I reinstalled my laptop back to factory settings, and I wanted to update the GPU drivers. But when I try, the screen turns black during the update, but the computer is still running. I was forced to turn off the computer and turn it back on. I used system restore, so now I'm using the default drivers that came with the laptop. Can you guys suggest anything?

 

nvidia geforce 341.02 driver causes black screen


I am also having the same problem, ie. black screen. I am using an alienware M11x laptop and Geforce nvidia 342.01 driver. (Until now I couldnt find a solution)For the past 1 month, I have been looking for a solution in the internet and havent found one, although there are varieties of solutions have been offered and I have tried all those solutions, but none works on my laptop. Most of them suggest to reboot to safe mode, and after that use DDU to uninstall and clean all Nvidia driver related files in the system, and perform a custom install of the driver (Perform Clean Install). I have done that and once it is finished installing the driver, it reboots and there it goes again, BLACK SCREEN. Now I am using the standard Intel HD driver, very standard one.Appreciate any info to solve this. Thanks.

 

Windows update forcing Nvidia Driver 432.00

Starting the other day windows update started force installing the Nvidia Driver 432.00

I am trying to remain on 431.36 or 431.60

I have tried everything i can think of that worked in the past for situations like this but am coming up empty on success.

This update will not show up in "wushowhide" to permanently hide it.

I have also done the suggestions listed in the below article but as soon as i restart it reverts.

I have went into the Control Panel > Systems and Security > System > Advanced system settings > Hardware tab > Device Installation Settings and "disabled" that.

Tried the checkbox on DDU "display driver uninstaller" that states Prevents download of drivers through windows update.

I am coming up at a loss. Has anyone else had this issue or found a solution?
