Windows 10: Laptop sets every new display config as "Show only on 1" when connecting to a new display...

No real idea why this is happening. Only know of one end user affected.Is there a way to change this so that it will go to duplicate by default when connecting a display?In more detail:I work as a school IT admin/helpdesk. One of our teachers has found that when she connects to a rooms IWB interactive whiteboard for the first time that it will be set to "Show only on 1" which has caused the teacher some confusion. Every other device seems to default to duplicate or extend usually extend. This won't change until we manually change it in settings or in win+p menu. Unsure if it it only per br

Laptop display question

Confusing statement! You want to change the display on your laptop that died?

Is that correct?

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

 

Display 1 Not Active

As of Wednesday this week, the 19th, one of displays is not functioning properly after a windows update. The display goes black and not able to connect via display port but HDMI works fine. I check the settings and it reads the monitor as connected but not
active, Display Setting -> Advanced Display Settings -> Choose Display 1 and reads "Display 1: Connected to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980TI, Display isn't active." It was not like this prior to updating on the 19th and was working as intended. Like is said before,
HDMI works fine just not display port and it is a 144hz monitor and is frustrating that I cannot use it as intended.

Troubleshooting Steps Attempted:

• Reinstalled Drivers multiple times, both old and new
• Wiped display drivers and installed old driver then updated to recent driver
• Swapping cables between monitors and testing other cables
• Ordered new Display Port cables and issue persists
