Windows 10: Laptop shuts down after a few hours of the lid staying closed

I'm experiencing this issue on two Lenovo laptops running Windows 11; one is running on 23H2 22631.3007.When I close the lid, the laptop behaves as expected. The screen turns off, and the laptop enters sleep mode, with the power button light flashing slowly to indicate that. However, if I leave the device in this state for multiple hours, say, wake up in the morning or put it out of my backpack after a ride, the laptop looks visually "shut down". The light's not flashing, and, when I open the lid, it starts booting like it's turned off. When it finishes booting, every application seems close

Laptop shuts down after a few hours of the lid staying closed

I'm experiencing this issue on two Lenovo laptops running Windows 11; one is running on 23H2 (22631.3007).

When I close the lid, the laptop behaves as expected. The screen turns off, and the laptop enters sleep mode, with the power button light flashing slowly to indicate that. However, if I leave the device in this state for multiple hours, say, wake up in the morning or put it out of my backpack after a ride, the laptop looks visually "shut down". The light's not flashing, and, when I open the lid, it starts booting like it's turned off. When it finishes booting, every application seems closed, like it is a fresh boot.

It takes a few moments to "wake" up, and, even though it's not very long, it's still enough time to find the relevant information on my phone instead of using the laptop. So, I believe the device shouldn't be doing that. It must be an issue and isn't an expected behavior.

For additional info, both laptops have the "Sleep" option set in the Control Panel next to the "When I close the lid:" setting.

Behavior when closing lid

I have long configured my laptop to stay on when I close the lid with it plugged in and to shut down when I close the lid with the plugged pulled. I do this for several reasons but the main reason I prefer this set up is because I can close the lid of my lap top, pull the plug and take it to where ever I want easily with the lid closed and the laptop stays powered on.

But this behavior no longer works this way. When I close the lid and pull the plug, the laptop powers down, it stayed on before.

Settings:

When I close the lid - On battery, shut down; Plugged in, Do nothing

Previous behavior:

Plugged in, close lid, laptop still on, pull plug, laptop remains on

Current behavior

Plugged in, close lid, laptop still on, pull plug, laptop shuts down.
