Laptop shuts down after a while when the charger is plugged in.

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron-3567. I have been using in for 2 years, but recently when i plug in the charger it works for about 30 mins to 1 hour and suddenly shuts down. It wont turn back on unless I reconnect the battery and charger. I tried power draining the laptop but no luck.

    :)

laptop shuts off on full batter while not plugged

    Hi Ashley,

In order for us to isolate the issue, we'd like to get the following information:

    • What is the model of your ASUS laptop?
    • Have you tried to power on your device after it shuts down without connecting it to the charger?
    • Have you made any changes or applied an update to your device prior to the issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Looking forward to your response.

Laptop shuts down after a while when the charger is plugged in.

Lenovo laptop won't wake up unless charger plugged in

Hi all, I have a 5 year old Lenovo Ideapad 510S 14ISK, Samsung 500gb SSD, 8gb RAM, running windows 10 Home version 21H2 os build 19044.2006.

A few days ago I opened the lid to use it but it didn't wake up - the charger was not plugged in a this point. I tried the power button, but still nothing. Assuming the battery was dead I plugged in the charger, hit the power button, on it came, all good. The battery was now showing 92%. Hmmmm. I unplugged the charger and the laptop remained running, happy. I then closed the lid, went away for a couple of hours, came back to laptop, opened the lid and once again nothing. Plugged in the charger, pressed the power button and it fired up. Odd.

I then tried a few things whilst not plugged to charger - direct restart , all good. Shut down, wait, then try to power up, nothing. Plug in charger, power up and soon as Lenovo splash screen appears, unplug charger, all good, continues to wake up. Once powered up and awake, I can then use it on battery for several hours but soon as I close the lid or hit sleep it won't wake up again without charger attached.

Tried a new charger, new battery, new CMOS battery, checked the clock in BIOS, checked for BIOS update, did windows re-install. Problem remains.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing this? Many thanks in advance.
