Windows 10: Laptop shuts down or hibernates after a little intensive task

My Asus Vivobook F571GT-HN1062T Intel Core i5 9th Gen-9300H 15.6 Inches Gaming Laptop 8GB/1TB HDD + 256GB SSD/Windows 11/Star Black/2 Kg Asus Vivobook F571GT-HN1062T Intel Core i5 9th Gen-9300H 15.6 Inches Gaming Laptop 8GB/1TB HDD + 256GB SSD/Windows 11/Star Black/2 Kg stops working after sometime it started when I was playing games, now whenever even a little intensive task is stops working.In the start it used to hibernate and then I switch offed the hibernate then it would switch off.This laptops battery is dead always showing 2-3% battery would not work if not plugged in.I used antiv

We suggest to manually setup hibernation on your computer. You may follow the steps below:

• Right-click on your desktop and select Personalize.
• Click Lock screen>Screen saver settings>Change power settings>Choose what the power buttons do.
  
  
• Change the settings When I press the power button, click
  hibernate.
• Click Save changes.

Win 10 Task Scheduler will not awake from hibernation properly

Your scheduled task looks fine.

I have a fundamental problem with your thread. You keep talking about "Hibernation" and the name of your schedduled task also includes this word. Now Windows 10 has two energy saving modes:

• Sleep Mode. In this mode most activities are shut off but the CPU keeps ticking over. It will respond to the keyboard, the mouse and to scheduled events.
• Hibernation. In this mode the current state is saved to disk, then the computer is shut down. In this mode the PC consumes no power. You can disconnect the power cord or remove the battery (in case of a laptop). When resuming, the current state is read
  back into RAM and Windows resumes where it left off.

In your scheduled task you instruct Windows to "wake the computer to run this task". This means that the PC MUST BE IN SLEEP MODE. If it was hibernating then it could not be woken because the CPU is shut down!

There are only two things that can wake a hibernating PC. Neither is dependent on the CPU:

• The power switch
• The BIOS (if it features such a function)

Perhaps you would like to review your problem in the light of the above observations.

 

Laptop no longer hibernates on critical power

Hi Mike,

The laptop's battery is possibly wearing out. Since you haven't change any settings, we suggest that you change the critical battery level a bit higher so that your laptop can perform a hibernation on a much higher percentage than the default. Follow the
steps below:

• Type Power Options on the Start menu search bar.
• Under Battery, click on Critical battery level.
• Chang the default percentage to 10% or higher.
• Click on Apply.
