Windows 10: Laptop Shutting Down Problem

My laptop has started shutting down unexpectedly at 20% battery without warning whatsoever and only turns on if i connect it to the ac adapter. How can i fix this?

This issue could be due to a certain component which could be avoiding the system’s proper shut down process. As an initial troubleshooting, we suggest running the built-in app troubleshooter on your Windows 10 PC. To do so, please follow these
steps:

• Click the Windows icon.
• Choose Settings.
• Under Settings, choose Update & Security.
• On the options on the left-hand side of the window, click Troubleshoot.
• Under Find and fix other problems, select Power and click Run the troubleshooter.

• Type troubleshooting in the Search bar and press

To assist you better, I would like to ask what are the methods that you have tried to solve the issue.

The issue might occur if the computer is not shut down properly. so, I suggest you to perform a power drain by follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Shut down the Computer.
• Remove all power source (including battery if it is a laptop).
• Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
• Connect the power source and start the computer.
• After the computer boots to the desktop, suggest you to install all the pending updates.
