    Laptop sleeps, doesn't wake, requires hard reboot...daily issue


    I am on an Acer Predator Helios 300 running Windows 11 Home.Every day, when I stop using the computer, it goes into some kind of shutdown sleep mode, I guess? and doesn't come out again constant black screen, but keys light up unless I hold the power button down and do a hard reboot.Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the hardware, as the computer reboots just fine. I guess this would be an issue with the operating system and/or software settings?In Power Options, I have it set to turn off the display after 25 minutes and put the computer to sleep after one hour.     Using laptop as desktop - can't wake it from sleep with wireless mouse or keyboard.

    • 4. Test waking from Sleep with the monitor connected to the laptop.
    • 5. Disconnect the monitor from the laptop, reboot, then test waking from Sleep without an external monitor.

    No luck with monitor connected. Disconnected the monitor, rebooted, then tested wake-from-sleep with no external monitor - no luck.

    HP Envy goes to sleep & will not wake up requiring hard reboot

    How do i view solution for this post???

    "Every since upgrading to Windows 10 yesterday, my laptop has been having issues with waking up from sleep mode. I currently have an HP ENVY x360. The power button does absolutely nothing anymore, and
    the screen remains black. The keyboard doesn't wake the laptop up either. This issue occurs with and without being plugged in. The only way to wake the laptop back up is by performing a hard reset every time. PLEASE HELP!"

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.
