Windows 10: Laptop Slows While Using USB port to charge phone

My laptop significantly slows down while I'm using one of its fast charging USB ports to charge my phone. I have a thinkpad l390 i5 8th gen, and I've been using it for the last 5 years. A few years ago, I started noticing that while charging my phone through the usb ports, the laptops performance slows down significantly, everything becomes sluggish, browsers loading slow, mouse cursors move slow. I don't remember facing this issue when I first started using the laptop, 5 years ago, just started a few years ago.In my opinion, charging alone, not reading data from the phone, should not affect t

Cell phone won't charge using laptop USB port

Hello, I have a Dell Windows 10 laptop, and android 11 cell phone. For a few years, I would charge my cell phone, using a USB cable, on my laptop. But for some reason, my cell phone will not charge on my laptop anymore. I have tried using different laptop ports. But my phone still charges using a portable charger or a wall socket. Has anyone else had this problem? Thank you.

Yes, there is. USB 3.1 at least supports the higher draw rate (part of USB 3.1 spec), and usually front panel USB 3.0 and one of the USB 2.0 pin headers support this. As CAPSLOCKSTUCKK posted, many phones will tell you charge time, making it easier to see which ports work, and which do not. Ther are usually a couple of the rear panel as well, but maybe only the USB 3.1.
