Windows 10: Laptop stuck at "Getting Windows Ready. Don't turn off your computer"

My Windows 10 laptop is stuck at "Getting Windows Ready. Don't turn off your computer." I have tried to power it off hard stop and then powered it on again, but it returns immediately to this point. So I can't reboot in safe mode to run the troubleshooter. And the WIN+R doesn't do anything. What can I do? Note that I had not started it for several months so it took a while to download all the updates. Maybe I goofed by doing the restart while it was installing new Windows 10 features. Is there anything that I can do except wait it out?

My Dell laptop was running slow so I rebooted. It is now stuck on"Getting Windows ready Don't turn off your computer."

WOW. After a very long wait. the laptop finally restarted. Disregard.

Have you tried any possible troubleshooting steps? If yes, what are those steps? This is to avoid repeating of the possible steps done.

If Windows 10 install gets stuck on the message "Getting Windows ready", it is possible that the internet connection might be running slow. Kindly ensure that your internet connection can suffice the download during the update. The other thing would be a conflict
from external devices. We suggest temporarily disconnect all peripherals aside from mouse and keyboard.
