    Laptop switches on when other electrical appliances are used, eg. lights


    I have my laptop and my lamp on the same multiplug, with the laptop on sleep. Whenever my lamp is turned on or off, the laptop turns on as well.


    My laptop is an ASUS VivoBook with the latest version of Win10 as of posting this.

    Hi Jeffrey, from what I see is that you can monitor your electric consumption by the use of 3rd party applications in which you will be able to list down your appliances/gadgets at home and that will be the point in which you can determine if you are really
    consuming that much.

    Good day! I am Independent Advisor Paul R. and also a Microsoft/Windows user like you and I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. I understand that there is a concern with regards to the usage of electricity.

    As from my experience this will all depend on how many gadgets or appliances are running as well and that will also be a factor but that does not mean that 1 machine will consume that much electricity.

    Screen does not light up when laptop switched on

    My laptop was working fine when I switched on early this morning. However, when I switched on later, the screen was black although the various indicator lights were flashing, which suggested that the computer was working without a display. Suggestions
    please.
