Windows 10: Laptop to monitor.

I have a laptop that has a broken screen so I try to plug an hdmi and it doesnt do anything to the monitor both monitor and hdmi are brand new. I need help it used to work before screen messed up. I have opened up the back, thought id add this just incase i could of unplugged anything.

Laptop suddenly stopped recognizing the external monitor

To assist you better, I would like to ask if the laptop is unable to recognize only the external monitor or other external devices also.

I suggest you to run the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by following the steps below:

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on “Hardware and Devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.
