Windows 10: Laptop unusable after 1083 W10 update

My laptop started out on W7 and migrated to W10 through the push from Microsoft. After performing the 1083 update (not at my request ~ I had left it unattended and the update kicked in) my laptop just has a black background, some desktop icons, but no functionality or network connecivity function. I have tried the following:


Interrupted bootup and attempted repair - just reported it was unable to do this.

Attempted reverting to earlier version - just reported it was unable to do this

Attempted re-install from W7 disc - just reported it was unable to do this as there was a later Windows version loaded

Attempted re-install from W10 iso file generated on my PC - just reported it was unable to do this


I have my Key code but cannot see a way out of this.

I am reticent to try anything that means altering the registry entries and nor should I have to.


Can I obtain a W10 iso file that will cleanly re-install? At present I have been deprived of the use of my laptop by the Windows update which I read has been severely problematic across the board. This is akin to a Denial Of Service attack.

1083 Update

I had some very important notes I was categorizing into different Sticky Notes on Desktop with plans to transfer them into a Word perfect documents. Restart after 1083 update made sure they are nowhere to be seen as well as other programs, and drivers.

System restore to an earlier date is not possible. Gone are all previous restore points. I can only restore it to where 1083 is installed.

No more Bluetooth Mouse, No more Bluetooth keyboard. Bluetooth does not even show up on Device manager.

Spent two hours on the phone with Microsoft Support out of Philippines on a remote session. They were no help because they were not "yet trained on 1803"!

NOW WHAT Microsoft?

windows 10 1083 update - OCZ 10xx SCSI controller incompatible

The update to win10 1083 stalls at 49%.

The reason given is that the OCZ 10xx SCSI controller (OCZ storage solutions) is not compatible with win10.

I have win10 installed on a Revodrive3 X2 and it has worked fine up to update 1709.

Is this a true issue or the driver somehow has not been added to the compatibilit list ?

Is there a way to bypass this issue?
