Windows 10: Laptop waking up system acts strange...

I've recently bought the Wi-Fi USB Adapter because my laptop's internet went busted, then this happens. Does the USB have anything to do with this?



My issue goes like this:

When I try to wake up my display from Sleep Mode, the power light is on, but the screen remains black, and when I closed my lid trying to put it to sleep again, the power light remains on and won't return to Sleep Mode and continues to deplete my battery.


Some of the internet has me to press Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B. I tried it and...nothing happens. Black screen, no cursors, nothing.


I wonder what happened...


I'm using ASUS X441U, and Windows 10.

ASUS Laptop Won't Wake from Sleep Mode

Problem: about 80% of the time, my laptop won't wake up from sleep mode via keyboard press or mouse move/click. I seem to be missing many common features in power plan too, even after fresh Windows 10 install.

Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Reinstalled Windows 10 (clean)
2. Updated all drivers
3. Replicated on multiple Windows 10 versions, updates
4. BIOS latest version
5. No USB devices attached, ever. Only USB-C power and bluetooth mouse
6. Disabled "fast startup" in control panel
