  2. Sager Laptop Freezing

I have had my new Sager laptop for almost a week now and it's been nothing but trouble and I've contacted them and let them know.

Maybe this could be an easy fix.

It says all my drivers are up to date.

Have no problems other than freezing.

The laptop freezes after start up after been shut down for hours. Freezes doing things unrelated to gaming. Like when I was on Internet explorer.

    It has an Intel i7 i7 7700 2.8ghz, an nVidia GTX 1050 2g ddr5. 8 gigs of ram and a normal hdd.

I had driver problems to start with so I downloaded driver booster and it updated them for me. I have all windows updates. I'm thinking it's either ram, or faulty windows install. The windows install is through a leasing agency it installs tracked and can
be locked and it pops up all that on start up.

What did they mean by leading agency? And as I said the OEM builder is responsible and they sign a contract with Microsoft to that effect. The point is to not put the customer in the middle of the builder and Microsoft when there are problems with new
equipment. Added that the OEM gets a cheaper rate from Microsoft so they can afford to provide the needed support.

Sager built it so they need to support it!

    Laptop Wifi Question (Sager NP9377)

You should be able to easily replace the Wi-Fi card in your laptop with one that can handle the 5 GHz AC band. Just look up the specifications on the card that you have, I believe it's a PCI Express format but you need to verify that. Then you can just buy a new card of the same format and install it. It should be quite easy to do.

Yes, all mini PCI cards have the same shape and pin configuration. I have to have a Sager that I have a AC 7260 Wi-Fi card in, also made by Intel.

The card supports 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz. Is the 5.8 same as 5G?
Also once installed, how/where do I get the Drivers? I am using Windows 10 64-bit

    Laptop Wifi Question (Sager NP9377)

Windows Update will automatically detect the hardware change and install the driver. Should be no need to check with mfr, most don't even post them any more.

And yes 5G is the same as 5.8 GHz. The just use 5G is shorthand many times.

Do I need to change any settings or anything to switch between 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz networks?

After you install the new Wi-Fi card you can go into device manager and under the network communications section flecked the new Wi-Fi card. Under the advanced section you will see we can choose which band you want to have the priority when it selects the network.
