Windows 10: Laptop will not update

I have a laptop computer that has Windows 8.1 and I just tried updating it to Windows 10. It keep coming up error and will not update... It will not let me update anything. I know it's an older computer that's why I'm trying to update it but, it's getting frustrating that it will not let me do any updates. I googled the issue and I did what the suggestions read and still nothing. Is there anyone who experienced this??

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Laptop problem: Black vertical "sidebar" [Update]

I will try that... do you think I have complete access to replace the monitor cable without dismantling the laptop from step 1? *Eek!
Tbh it's a bit scary.
