Windows 10: Laptop will only detect one of two monitors

Hi!


I added a third monitor today and it was recognized, but it caused my second monitor NOT to work.


I'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad T430. The second monitor is a Samsung and the new monitor is from Lenovo. Samsung is connected via HDMI; the Lenovo is connected via a parallel port. I'm running Windows 10 Build 18363.


I've already updated my drivers and enabled/disabled my graphics cards, and unplugged and restarted -- nothing has worked.


The only thing I have found is under Device Manager > Monitors > Generic Monitor > right click Properties > Events ... is this Error message.


"Device DISPLAY\LEN60DF\4&194b624d&0&UID16843008 was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match."


Can anyone help me get this third monitor up and running?

Laptop display does not detect itself

Hi,

In regards to your concern, since the second screen can't detect the display settings of your other laptop, we suggest that you perform the steps below and see if it helps:

• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• Under System, choose Display.
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply.

Windows 10 not detecting ViewSonic 2265 Monitor

I have searched the forums and tried all the suggests on getting my laptop to detect second monitor to no avail. What amd I missing? I have downloaded the drivers for my monitor and still nothing.

I only have 1 computer (the laptop) and 1 external monitor. The laptop cannot detect its own screen.

So when I follow your steps, this is what happens:

• Go to Settings. (Done)
• Click on System. (Done)
• Under System, choose Display. (Done)
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply. (Done)
• But then I undock my laptop and redock. Re-login, etc.
• Only the external display turns on. The laptop does not turn on its own display. In order to get the laptop display to wake up, I need to follow steps 1-4 again. The settign "Duplicate these displays" does not seem to be retained.
