  1. Laptop Wireless Display not showing up as a projection option on PC

    Hello!For context, I use my laptop as a second monitor with the "Wireless Display" optional feature on Windows 11, and have been doing this for around two years now. Today, I attempted to project to my laptop as normal from my PC, but my laptop did not appear as an option in the Win+K cast menu.I have already tried:- Restarting both devices- Updating both devices- Updating display adaptor drivers on the laptop- Uninstalling and reinstalling Wireless Display on the laptop- Installing Wireless Display on the PCBoth devices are on the same network and have the same version of Windows 11 24H2. 2. Wireless Display will not project

    Hi Chris,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    It's unfortunate that you are facing this issue. Let me assist you to resolve the issue.

    To be able to mirror the screen on a third-party device, you need to make sure that the source as well as the receiver have Miracast support. If the manufacturer of the third-party device has mentioned that the device supports wireless display, then
    you can be rest assured of the Miracast compatibility with the device.

    To use miscasting on your computer, please follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    • To access project option on Windows 10, press the
      Window + P keys together.
    • If your computer supports the Miracast display, then you will see an option as
      Add a wireless display.
    • Click on Add a Wireless display. It will start searching for the new displays which are available in the range provided. Once you find the required device on the search results, click on the
      device name.
    • Now Windows will install the required drivers on the device and shortly you will see the third part display displaying your device.
    • Later if you want to disconnect the device, you can do the same from your computer by going to the project screen (Windows + P keys) and clicking on the
      disconnect option.

    Additional Information:

    Project to a wireless display with Miracast

    Fix connections to wireless displays or docks in Windows - Microsoft Support

    Hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance regarding Windows.

    "Connect to a wireless display" does not appear on the Project option

    Those articles did not work. The Wireless Display Adapter is not a device that I am using. I have another laptop that does not use the Adapter, was just upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10, and it uses the "Connect to wireless display" option with no additional
    adapter or hardware needed.

    The Miracast article did not apply either. I am not using Miracast on an android device, I am using a laptop.

    I also removed the Samsung 55 device from my connected devices and readded it (although it is only listing as a Play device anyway so I do not see how this helps. It needs to be a Projected device, as seen on my other laptop that IS able to connect wirelessly
    to a display).

    Edit: I also have updated the latest software for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M display adapter. This is the only display adapter listed on my Device Manager (after selecting the show hidden devices option).

    Projecting from Asus laptop to TV as Wireless display isn't working

    Hi,I can't figure out, where is the problem, when I try tom project my laptop to TV via Wireless display. I searched information in google, and still couldn't find a solution.
    I did the following steps:
    1. Updated all necessary drivers in PC and in TV;
    2. Checked in "dxdiag" and saw, that Miracast is supported (see attached document);
    3. "Dxdiag" shows, that Intel graphic card supports Miracast, but Nvidia doesn't (there are two graphic cards in my laptop);
    4. Tried to connect PC with TV via Wireless display. TV showed message "Connectin to PC NAME". PC also showed "Connecting". After 10 seconds message in TV disappeared. After 1 minute message in PC changed to "Couldn't connect".
    5. I tried to remove TV device from PC, and then add it again. It didn't help.
    6. I tried to remove PC device from TV and add it again. It didn't help.
    7. I tried to put PC close to TV, making sure it's in range. It didn't help.
    8. I tried to connect to TV via Samsung smart phone - connection was successful. This would mean, that something is wrong with PC.

    What could be the reasons that Wireless display isn't working?
    Could it be that network adapter Broadcom 802.11n isn't suitable for Wireless display? Although "dxdiag" shows, that Miracast is supported.
    Could it be that Nvidia is used instead of Intel graphic card? But I tried to disable Nvidia, and still couldn't get connection.Regards
