Windows 10: Laptop with nonfunctional screen won’t boot after failed update; need way to boot up that...

Hello to all. I have a laptop whose screen has been nonfunctional for years. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars having it fixed but it seems I’ve been unable to find a competent local repair person, as the repairs don’t last and the screen once again fails to display anything soon after the warranty period for the repair expires. The touchscreen sensing function still works, though, even if the screen is dark. I normally use this laptop with an external monitor. Apparently, the drivers that allow for connection to an external monitor don’t load up until late in the boot sequence, so my external

Hp laptop screen won’t display except occasionally

I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?

 

Laptop won't boot.

Friend has a fairly new laptop so if all else fails we can return it. However he has files importent to him on the laptop so if we can fix it while retaining the orginal OS that would be nice.

Model: HP Pavilion dv2500
Spec: 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon X2, Nvidia GPU
OS: Vista Home Edition 64 Bit
Problem: Laptop turns on, show the HP Boot screen but fails to load Vista and instead show nothing but a black screen and a blinking light with no text displayed.

Details: Owner claims that it was working fine, than one day (Yesterday) "it just does this." No information toward what the problem can be other than possible corruption of the HDD?

Really guys I have never encountered something like this. I check the boot sequence and its fine, no USB drives plugged in tricking the computer to boot from it.

Currently thinking about doing a System Restore to restore windows to an earlier point in time. Should I proceed, no answers and I will just do so. EDIT: can't do this since I don't have a Driver for the Vista CD to recognize the HDD.

computer won't boot but has power

Kursah, that 6 steps are granted it always boots at the 6th step (sometimes at the 4th) and I have to remove the ethernet cable every time otherwise I'll have to do countless steps, that's a fact. I do not have Wake On Lan set.
