    I have a laptop which is stiuck in a repair loop for hours on end. I dont have an OS cd but can get into the bios but no dos menuI created a recue cd and that is also stuck in a grrove with the circlular wheel running. I have a back up image on an external hd, but cannot even get to dos to format the hd ? How can I proceed further pleaseThanksJohn

    Win10 recovery repair is looping

    Microsoft upgraded my Win7 HP Compaq nx7400 Laptop to Win10 free of charge and it worked fine. Hence I have no cd or dvd.

    Having already got Win10 on my PC and laptop which are working fine, I neglected to make a recovery usb for the HP laptop.

    I want to give the HP Laptop to a friend as a backup. However when I tried it recently it wouldn't start properly. It went into repair mode but it started looping such that I could not get to safe mode or a restore point. "Preparing Automatic Repair / Diagnosing
    Your PC" was the loop message.

    I have tried the media creation tool but that fails with error message 0x80004005 – 0xa001a.

    I did manage, when the HP Laptop first worked, to get the Win10 version which is 1703 15063.540

    As an initial step to get back into the normal Windows screen, we suggest that you perform a
    Startup repair. The repair will attempt to fix any broken components/files which may prevent your device from booting properly. To do this, follow the steps below:

    • On theAutomatic Repair screen, select Advanced options.
    • Select Troubleshoot.
    • Select Advanced options.
    • Select Startup Repair.

    Automatic Repair Loop ( Windows 10 Pro )

    I have an issue with Automatic repair loop (Windows 10 Pro) when restarting laptop. Currently running laptop in safe mode. Problem persists only while restarting the laptop in which case I have to boot the laptop through safe mode. Once in safe mode, if
    I shut down normally there are no issues. But, if I restart it, it goes into automatic repair loop. My laptop is HP. Please help!
