Windows 10: Laptop with Windows 10 is connected to WiFi, yet the apps say there's no internet access.

Hello,This is quite a complex issue, I'm not even sure how to describe it, so I'll share when it all started.The other day I was updating a videogame, where all of a sudden in the middle of the process I've got the blue screen of death. After my laptop has restarted, the download process never moved from 0% like it wasn't downloading at all. I've checked other apps and it's the same there. No downloads on Steam work, in fact when I tried to install an antivirus software as I was suspicious that it would be a malicious attack, it didn't even let me install that as the software said "There is no

W10 can connect to wider internet but cannot access web pages

I have an odd issue with my W10 laptop linked to Sky broadband in the UK via wifi using a Sky router. The effect is that while I can actually access the internet (I can send and receive emails using Outlook and can connect to other machines using TeamViewer) I cannot access any web site (Google, BBC etc). There is no specific error message, merely that the access request timed out and a suggestion that it may be to do with proxy.

I have tried the following:

1. Other systems (W10 and ios) can access web sites using the same Sky router (therefore probably not a router problem)
2. I have sent and received emails using Outlook, so the broadband connection is working (probably not a Sky problem)
3. I have tried two different browsers (Firefox and Edge), no connection (not a browser problem)
4. I am using Windows Defender and have:
   1. Made sure that Firefox is in the list of allowed systems in its Firewall, no connection after a reboot
   2. Turned off the Firewall and tried again - no connection

My next step will be to re-install Windows, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Could it be some sort of virus (I have carried out a complete virus check using Defender)

my wifi shows its connected but wont access the internet or app store

The internet connection does require a password, which I entered - and the phone says its connected, just nothing works. My laptop, my daughters laptop all work with the same wifi connection.

 

Laptops cannot access desktops via WIFI

I have 3 desktops (all on Windows 10 1803) connected on my LAN. After following this forum for some times and did all the steps as suggested by forum member, access denied, all my desktops are able to view and access one another. I have a printer connected to PC1, and managed to connect all the other 2 PCs to have the shared printer.

I also have 2 more laptops (both Asus with the same Windows 10 1803) connected via WIFI. Performed all the same steps as per the desktops, but I was not able to access PC1. I was able to view all the 3 desktops from the file explorer, but I just can't access all the desktops. However, I was able to access the Asus laptops from desktop PC1.

Anyone able to assist on this matter? Any assistance is highly appreciated.
