Windows 10: Laptop won't boot after Windows 10 update; power button unresponsive

I had selected "Update and Shut Down" when turning off my Samsung laptop running Windows 10.

I turned it on the next morning, but it wasn't long before it shut down on its own.

I rebooted again and had long enough to search possibilities, check the fan (which was fine), and then start a malware search, but it shut down on its own again after probably 5 minutes or less, and now will not boot at all. (So I cannot check for the Windows Version number.)

It was running fine before the update with no problems, and was regularly maintained with CCleaner, Spyware Blaster, MalwareBytes, and sometimes SuperAntiSpyware. On occasion, I would also run Avast.

I haven't a clue about how to proceed. The power button is completely unresponsive.

Boot Surface Laptop to USB - no Volume button

This doesn't list the "Surface Laptop", but you might give it a try to see.

Laptop won' t shutdown (or restart) and sleep [takes forever]

The situation:

• When shutting down, the laptop proceeds as normal until the screen turns off.
• After the screen turns off, it takes a while for the battery LED to go off.
• After that the power led remains on and it looks like the laptop is stuck in this state forever.
• When I try to get my laptop to sleep, something similar happens; the power led remains on, the battery led turns off and the laptop appears to be stuck in this state.

My laptop is: Asus FX553VD.

What I've tried:

• I have tried to troubleshoot power management and power options.
• Tried clean boot.
• Updated the BIOS.
• Reinstalled windows and tried shutdown and sleep (without installing the drivers and stuff), however that didn't work either.

Additional Info:

• I have multiple operating systems installed in my laptop, however this problem persists on windows only (the OSes are installed on different drives).
• The disk usage is abnormally high.
• There are spikes in CPU usage that kick up the fan really fast while idle.

Please suggest other ideas as to what I should do?

Kursah, that 6 steps are granted it always boots at the 6th step (sometimes at the 4th) and I have to remove the ethernet cable every time otherwise I'll have to do countless steps, that's a fact. I do not have Wake On Lan set.
