Windows 10: Laptop won't display login box

Toshiba Satellite L75D-A7283, Win 10 Home


Initially woukd fail to display login prompt upon waking from sleep mode. Now, not even reboot fixes issue. Recent installs include Norton 360 following 'unknown failure', Cura, and Flash Print.


Issue is inconsistent. Sometimes my profile ogin name will appear, sometimes the screen just blurs out. After a certain timeout, the background screen will reappear, awaiting me to click Ctrl or move the mouse to try again.


Have been unable to log on at all since mid-day.

Laptop display question

Confusing statement! You want to change the display on your laptop that died?

Is that correct?

How do you know its the display that's bad?

Just google "how to change display on a acer 5745"

Should get you to step by step instructions. But first make sure its the display that's bad

 

Cheap Photo box that will get the job done

WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

Materials:

• Big cardboard box

• a razor

• white material 3 yards

• cone lights

• stapler

• medical tape

• pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box

• white paint any cheap finger paint would work

the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
I will post pictures and step by step as i do it

 

Laptop display does not detect itself

Hi,

I only have 1 computer (the laptop) and 1 external monitor. The laptop cannot detect its own screen.

So when I follow your steps, this is what happens:

• Go to Settings. (Done)
• Click on System. (Done)
• Under System, choose Display. (Done)
• Under Multiple displays, click on Duplicate these displays and apply. (Done)
• But then I undock my laptop and redock. Re-login, etc.
• Only the external display turns on. The laptop does not turn on its own display. In order to get the laptop display to wake up, I need to follow steps 1-4 again. The settign "Duplicate these displays" does not seem to be retained.
