    Laptop won't recognise headphones after Windows update.


    Yesterday night/early this morning my laptop (Inspiron 15 5000) automatically updated. Today as I go to listen to music on youtube and much to my annoyance, my headphones aren't being recognised by my laptop. Thinking they were broken or something happened, I tried them on my phone but they worked perfectly fine so it's obviously something to do with the update considering the laptop is less than a year old and it was working fine when I was listening to music last night.



    I went into the control panel to see that it added these two updates:


    Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service IntcAzAudAddService for Device Instance ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0256&SUBSYS_10280767&REV_1000\4&362F3A3C&0&0001 with the following status: 0.

    Driver Management concluded the process to install driver hdxma7.inf_amd64_9bbcdf3b5e3fc734 for Device Instance ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0256&SUBSYS_10280767&REV_1000\4&362F3A3C&0&0001 with the following status: 0x0.



    Would someone be able to tell me how to fix this whether it being uninstalling the update or if its a simple fix of just changing a setting. Thank you!

    Headphones Not Recognised Following Windows Update

    Hi,

    A couple of weeks ago I installed a windows update I had been putting off for a while. Following this I have had a couple of different issues emerge but one of the most annoying has been that my laptop now no longer recognises when headphones are connected.

    When I connect a pair of wired headphones the sounds just continues to play out of the computer's speakers. When headphones are connected they are not listed in playback devices (it shows speakers only).

    I have tried several different pairs of headphones (all of which work on other devices) with no luck, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sound drivers but again no luck.

    Can anybody help???

    Windows updates won't install!

    I'll check that out.

    I had read that. However the problem MS is addressing there is when the update client files of the pc don't recognise that the pc is not updated and hence don't download the updates. My updates download fine. In fact I'm even getting downloaded updates which I do not need (win2000, vista, server...) The problem is getting the correct updates installed...

    For example, I'm getting KB933729 in my list. That's for Vista!
