  1. Laptop wont use battery even though it says 99 percent full

Hi sorry if this is the wrong place but im going to ask every community i think its relevant too.

This all began a few days ago. I have an LG gram 17 that i have been using hooked up to a kensington usb c dock ( SD5000T ). I just recently got the dock about two weeks ago. I had been using it the past few days to power my laptop while running my gpu and external drives thru the kensington dock. Everything seemed fine. I undocked my laptop and noticed the battery was low when I got to my bed which I guess I didnt really think about at the time. So i plugged in the nearby macbook usbc charger I had and everything seemed fine. The next day I started using it again for a bit in bed but when i unplugged it to go to my desk it turned off. I thought that was strange and maybe it hadnt been charged because it wouldnt turn back on. Then I plugged the usb c charger of the macbook back in and it powered on. Once it was booted back up it said the battery was at 100 percent so i unplugged it again and it died... I plugged back in the usb c charger and got into windows. Thinking it may have been a setting in windows or a driver I toggled a couple settings and updated the bios. As soon as I updated the bios it stopped working completely thru the usb c port. I thought the whole thing was dead. I was super bummed because I thought I had finally found a laptop that fits me pretty well. I dug out the stock barrel AC adapter and thankfully that allowed it to power on. So Im currently having to use it tethered which sucks. Please someone help me. So symptom wise, it says the battery is 99 percent but for whatever reason it wont use it. Only runs on the stock AC adapter but still lets me plug in the tb3 port for external hdd and my gpu. Im thinking worst case scenario the dock fried the charging circuit of my laptop somehow. But why would the laptop be able to read the battery as good and fully charge but not use it once the laptop is unplugged. I ran a couple battery reports around that time and I will attach them. I also did a clean windows install on the secondary nvme drive thinking it may be something wrong in windows. The symptoms were the same in that install. Also something to note is the laptop will shut off even in bios if it is unplugged. I did a reset to bios settings as well. Sorry for the ramble but im trying to give as much information as possible. I really hope just buying a new battery would replace it but for some reason I doubt that. Is it possible that windows may have changed something in the pc settings that i can reset? I unplugged the battery and all power sources and held the power button for 20-30 seconds and that did nothing. I tried a couple system restores as well with no luck. I really hope someone can help!

    TLDR

Model lg gram 17 and SD5000T dock

Laptop would only run on charger (usb C or ac adapter) now only runs on AC adapter. Says battery is 99 percent but dies once i unplug it.

Plugged in but battery does not charge

If the laptop works without the battery then charger is functioning correctly. Take a cloth with a bit of rubbing alcohol on it (or some on-the-go alcohol swabs), and clean the metal contacts that connect your battery to your laptop.
