Windows 10: Laptop works great while is connected to external monitor but if I opened the laptop's lid...

So I have this weird Issue with my laptop G5 5590it works great on external display while the lid is closed but if I opened the laptop's Lid the entire laptops freezes tried updating both Nvidia Gtx 1660 ti and intel graphics cardalso updated bios to the latest version possibleany got the same issue please help

5G WIFI connection drops when Asus Tuf laptop is connected to external monitor.

I am using Asus Tuf Gaming F15 2023 Laptop and using HDMI cable to connect monitor.

There is no problem when 2.4G connection is used.

5G connection works well when no external monitor is connected.

It even works if the laptop's lid is open while monitor is connected.

problem occurs when I close the lid and secondary monitor is up alone.

I have already set "Do Nothing" as closing lid option.

Any suggestions??

 

Windows Snap left/right not working when laptop connected to external monitor but lid is closed

I just got a new laptop and I'm seeing some behavior that I didn't see with my old laptop. For my old laptop, when I connected the laptop to an external monitor (hdmi) and then closed the lid of the laptop, Windows seemed to know the laptop lid was closed
and didn't allow me to drag from the external monitor onto the laptop monitor anymore. And because I couldn't drag onto the laptop monitor anymore, I was able to use the Aero windows snap feature on both the left and right sides of the external monitor.

But, with my new laptop, even when the laptop lid is closed, windows still seems to think it's there. Consequently, I can drag to the right, off the external monitor, and onto the closed-lid laptop monitor. And of course because I can drag like this, the
Aero windows snap for the right side of the external monitor isn't working. It works on the left side of the external monitor (my monitor configuration is that I have the extneral monitor in front of me and the laptop off to the right)

So I guess I need to know if there is some configuration which is somehow letting windows still use the laptop monitor even after the lid is closed?

Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

• Have you set Sleep function to activate on closing the laptop lid?
• Did you check if the laptop goes to sleep when not connected to external monitor and lid closed?

To respond to your questions

(1) I have set the sleep function to operate on laptop lid close only when the laptop is on battery power. When it is plugged in I have set it to do not sleep ever.

(2) I have tested that it does *not* go to sleep when I the laptop is plugged in and I close the laptop lid

Further information:

(1) When I first turned the laptop on I attached it to the monitor and closed the lid. It then ran successfully for approximately an hour before hibernating.

(2) I then restarted the system, external monitor plugged in, lid closed and it went to hibernate after approximately 2 minutes.
