Laptop works hard on idle after some minutes unused when its plugged in

    Hello,

after some minutes on idle when the laptop is plugged in its starts to work really hard until i move the mouse. Then it immediately stops. (This doesn't happen when the Laptop is on battery)

I have looked in the Taskmanager and you can see the process on the attatched Screenshot.

This is really annoying and i only have the laptop for 3 weeks and already had to do a fresh reinsall to solve some other problems.

    Can anyone help me please?

  2. My laptop frezzes completly when I leave it idle for not even 10 mins

    Hello!

My laptop has a problem. When I leave it idle for 5 minutes it freezes for another minutes and then restarts. I am struggling with this problem for months.
When I reset the windows and delete eveything from the hard drives it works fine for 1 or 2 weeks, then again.
I have this laptop for not even 1 year.
Any suggestions? I'll try everything. It works fine if I'm playing a game or something, but I can't even watch a youtube video. It's really bad.

  3. Overclock your hard drive!!!

Heres a much easier hack that I realized quite a few years ago that really does work!

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Hard drive with molex power connection.
    • PSU with more than 1 strand that has molex plugs on it.
    • Wire strippers, soldering iron if you're fancy, electrical tape if you're not.
    STEPS:
    • Take the strand of connectors from your PSU, and decide which one will be the donator for this overclocking adventure.
    • Cut the yellow and orange cables, then twist them together.
    • Find the power connector you've chosen as the overclocking connector, and release the orange cable from the connector. Now use your preferred method to bind them together, then place it back together.
    • Plug in a drive and feel the speed!
Congratulations! You've just overclocked your hard drive!

  4. Laptop works hard on idle after some minutes unused when its plugged in

Windows 10 Keeps going into sleep after 1 minute idle

This started being an issue for me even though my laptop hadn't done any updates and my laptop just started doing this now and I've had it for 4 months (I have an Acer Aspire 5 with windows 10). The screen of my laptop kept going black (my laptop wasn't
plugged in), and I would have to click a key on the keyboard for the screen to turn back on in which it would open up to my lock screen. I searched my laptop and changed a setting which seems to have fixed this issue. This is the solution that worked for me:

    • Go to Control Panel
    • Click on 'Hardware and Sound'
    • Click 'Power Options'
    • Along the left side of the window there should be a few options, click on "Change when the computer sleeps"
    • Near the bottom of the window there should be an option "Change advanced power settings", click on this and it should bring up a box
    • Click on the '+' symbol beside "Hard Disk"
    • Under 'Hard disk', click on the '+' beside "Turn off hard disk after"
    • Now you should have two options, 'On battery' and 'Plugged in' with the number of minutes beside them that it is set to. (Mine was set to 2 minutes on battery, so I changed it to 10 minutes-the same as when my screen dims)
    Hopefully this helps!
