  1. Laptop's Fans sound weird after new update

I just updated to version 2004 on Sunday and everything was going well until I had to restart my laptop to install an update for 2004. Now when using it, my Laptop's fans (I have an Alienware 17 R4 if it helps) Is making a weird noise. Normally when I am not playing any game, the fans don't make any noise but now, the fans get louder and for a little and then go quieter and then repeats going in and out. Is this the update's fault or something else? How can I fix this?

  2. Weird Noise after Anniversary Update

    Hello John,

Let’s check what is causing that weird sound on your laptop.

Based on the link that you had provided, it seems that it’s either your CPU fan or Hard drive which is creating that sound.

If it’s the CPU fan, it might be an issue due to heavy processing, processor heating up or changes made during the update. If it’s your Hard drive, the issue might be with HDD performance. We suggest you to back up all your data to your external drive
    to prevent data loss.

Follow these steps to resolve your issue:

Step 1: Check your Task Manager

Close all applications and check in task manager for any high usage of resources by any process.

    • Press Ctrl + Shift+ Esc together to open task manager.
    • Click on more details and check for any apps that is taking more resources.
    • Take note of any Applications that are taking High CPU usages and try to disable it if it’s not that important.
Step 2: Start your computer in Safe Mode

Safe mode will start computer with basic drivers to check what might be causing the issue in normal functioning of computer. Check if the weird sounds are still happening.

    Start computer in Safe Mode

Step 3: Run Hardware and Device troubleshooter

    • Press Windows + W, and type troubleshooting.
    • From the search list, click on troubleshooting.
    • On the left pane click on view all to get the list.
    • Click on hardware and devices troubleshooter.
    • Follow the on screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting.
Hardware and device troubleshooter is an inbuilt troubleshooter that will find the issues with hardware devices and try to fix them automatically.

    Let us know what happens.

awkward rattling sound from the fan of the new laptop.

    Hello

    I brought a new hp pavilion 15 laptop(i5 8th gen,8 GB ram ,1 tb HDD).

as soon as i press the power button i can hear some awkward sound from the fan. the source of the sound is from left top corner of the laptop, below the power button.

i went for a replacement and got a new same laptop(hp pavilion 15).

In the new laptop the problem remained the same.

Fan sound is not continuous and its not too loud. but i can still hear at night time when i am working alone in my room with my laptop

the sound stared from the very first day when i got the laptop(BOTH THE LAPTOP).

is it safe to have a sound like that or should i call it for other replacement.

    thank you

Laptop's Fans sound weird after new update

Laptop occasionaly turns restarts with blue screen and weird fan noise

    I have a Lenovo G50 Laptop.
For past few months , sometimes while using it, it restarts with a blue screen and then there's a weird noise from the laptop like a fan getting stuck.

I checked the system logs, the error says memory management issue. So my assumption is something to do with RAM or Harddisk.

    I tried the below:

    1. I did a windows harddisk scan but it did not show any errors.
    2. Checked speed fan SMART , but it shows no error.

Laptop's Fans sound weird after new update Qg2bh.png

      1. Lenovo also has hardware scan tool, and it scanned all devices but showed no error.

I'm thinking of upgrading my harddisk to a new SSD but not sure if the HDD is at fault.
    What could be the issue?
