Windows 10: Laptop's speaker audio volume has noticeably gone done after 2004 update.

Lenovo Legion Y740, Windows 10 v2004 (Build 19041.329).

Intel core i7 9750H, 17.3" 144Hz GSync, RTX 2080MQ, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD,

Before the 2004 update, my speakers were quite loud. For any movie playback via VLC or youtube video on chrome, I used to keep system volume at 60% and I could hear everything comfortably.

But after the 2004 update, the audio loudness has gone down considerably. At 60%, I have to really strain to hear the dialogues. Most of the time, I'm having to crank the volume all the way up to 100%.

I've checked that the speaker driver doesn't have any pending update. It's a generic Microsoft driver version 10.0.19041.1 from 12/6/2019.

Anyone else? Any solutions?

Speakers L+R reversed after Windows update to v. 2004?

I updated to Windows 10 Pro v.2004 OS Build 19041.264 on May 28 and I now notice that the left and right speaker channels have been reversed. I'm using a laptop and the speakers are desktop type, connected to the audio jack on the laptop. The only solution that I could think of was to physically swap the two speakers as I couldn't find any setting to swap the channels.

 

red X by audio after 1709 update - audio device gone in device manager.

Just updated to 1709, and got a red X by the speaker symbol. All instructions say "manually update the driver, or, de-install / re-install, or perform an automatic update... there's nothing to de-install / re-install and update. I was going to manually update
the inf driver, but there is no audio or sound speaker symbols listed in my device manager - gone!

Any suggestions?

Audio sound not working on speakers/or headphones. No sound


Yesterday my audio worked fine on both my speakers on my laptop (Dell Inspiron/N5110) and headphones. Then all of a sudden they stopped working. I have made sure that all the volumes are not muted. I did a troubleshoot on playing audio and it said low audio device volume detected, but when I increase the volume, nothing happens. Any one have any suggestions?
