Windows 10: Large Email Release- Archived and Deleted emails released in my Inbox as Unread

All - I just had about 40 emails that I had previously archived or deleted in my invoice or at least read just re-appear in my inbox as unread.2 weeks ago there was an incident on the Microsoft when every emails coming to abc.com was going in quarantine. now again seems like we can't send email to abc.com domain and it's getting quarantined and users are getting back bulk of older emails from either deleted items or quarantined items to their inbox.

I'm using windows 10 and I cant delete emails in my inbox?
Any suggestions

 

Reading emails doesn't always mark them unread

I'm a little confused - do you mean read or unread once it's been deleted? I get the following behaviour:

• Read email (this should mark it read)
• Press delete
• Sync email or wait for sync

What this does is move the email from my inbox into my deleted (or trash, or bin, or whereever it's supposed to go) correctly. However, the email is still marked as UNREAD, when it should be marked read as I have already read it. If I leave it in my inbox,
without deleting it, the next time it syncs, it's marked as read, correctly, it's only if I delete it that it leaves it as unread.

Hi,

There's a possibility that your unread emails could be saved in one of the subfolders in your inbox. For us to isolate this problem, we suggest checking and expanding all subfolders in your inbox and see if there are unread messages. If there are no unread
messages, then Run the troubleshooter for Windows apps to help us determine and address the problem.

In case the problem persists, we suggest that you refresh your email notification by turning off/on the email notifications in Windows 10 Mail app. Here's how:

• Open the Mail app.
• Click the Settings icon at the bottom of the page, then select
  Options.
  
• In the top drop-down menu, select the email account where unread messages show up and scroll down to the Notifications settings.
  
• Turn off/on the Notification.
• Close the Windows 10 Mail app, then relaunch it.
