  1. Last Time I Tried to Restore from a Windows-Created System Image It Refused to Restore

Somebody else built a system with specialized software installed on it. It sends radio broadcasts to a radio transmitter on a fixed schedule. Something got corrupted and I needed to put the system on a firm foundation that the system image represented. In Microsoft's tradition of meaningless error messages I went into an infinite loop trying this and that and eventually gave up. Microsoft would not know a diagnostic message if they fell over one. My favorite latest error message from Microsoft: "Something went wrong. Try again later." My question: When will Microsoft produce the ability to create and restore system images? We could take bets. I found 3rd party software that does the job. Their documentation is terrible. But the software works correctly. The primary concern billion dollar enterprises like Microsoft seem to have is that end users will commit software theft with system images.

    Back up restore mystery..

i have used s system image restore several times over the past months.. its always worked without problems..

a couple of days ago i f-cked up my win 10 install using CCleaner to get rid of some "windows old" remnants.. just being tidy.. he he..

the machined refused to boot afterwards.. i thought no problem and fished out my repair disk.. when tried to run it i got the message below.. anyway a full win 10 custom install got the bloody thing going again..

today i ran a full system disk image back up.. EFI partition and the complete C drive.. pretty much like i always do..

just to make sure i tried restoring from it.. bugger me i got the same nonsense message.. its the same f-cking computer running a disk image restore done 10 minutes earlier.. he he

lucky i dont need it but at least i now know my back up method dosnt work any more.. as far as i can see everything looks as it should..

i am just running another disk image back just to make sure it aint a fluke..

"The system image restore has failed

Windows cannot restore a system image to a computer that has different firmware.

The system image was created on computer using EFI and this computer is using bios.."

    trog

ps.. i just created another system image back up on a freshly formatted usb drive.. i got the same message when tried to restore from it..

i now admit to being completely f-cking baffled.. he he..

  3. Windows XP PRO error after restore

System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.
