Windows 10: latencymon question, about latency

Is it normal to have latencymon show ISR wdf01000 around 35 while playing games and dxgkrnl to around 400 DPC while playing as well? my setup all amd plus very alarming idk if its suppse to be like that but why my realtek family ethernet driver showing 6 average but when i downgrade to 2015 microsoft driver or when i turn it of completely its normal 1.4 average, i tried many drivers 2019 as well, its same, maybe its latencymon problem? Maybe shows wrong numbers cause newer windows version broke it? it doesn't show high ndis or other so i have no clue why ot shows higher averages with newer d

Diagnosing this problem is not straightforward.

One approach is to simplify hardware as much as possible, another to use a somewhat daunting tool from MS, the Windows Performance Recorder (tutorial available).

Windows 10 DPC latency issue with ndis & tcpip.sys

Another additional information / observation on the DPC latency issue is, that the LatencyMon app itself can seemingly produce a DPC Latency peak. I'm not 100% sure on this at the moment but from my experience it can trigger one single peak (not only on
start but even when it's already checking the latency). IDK why this happens but it can happen and I already saw this 2 times.

This of course has no influence on the tcpip.sys and the corresponding bug but it has to be noted that the LatencyMon has also some kind of influence on the overall latency behaviour especially on WLAN connections or drivers. Furthermore it has to be said,
that I also tried the tcpip.sys stress-testing without LatencyMon (only investigating on audio stutter and lags in the audio processing). So from point of view it also occurs no matter if LatencyMon runs or not but it's difficult to say how much LatencyMon
influences the acutal lag but generally that doesn't matter because the bug is there. To sum it up LatencyMon is not the reason why the stutter occurs but it can have some impact.

 

Windows 10 DPC latency issue with ndis & tcpip.sys

I can not confirm that LatencyMon, DPC Latency Checker or xperf can produce DPC latency peaks themselves. I have been using these programs for one and a half years. I left LatencyMon and DPC Latency Checker open for a couple of days many times. Torrent clients
is the only type of programs (besides crazy pings) that produce more than 60 ms peaks (and sound stutters) themselves on my three very different PCs. A process latency peak can appear if I close a pretty large application (screenshot
– it’s a Task manager’s Memory tab, LatencyMon and DPC Latency Checker). Backup programs cause small unnoticeable peaks too.

By the way. It makes sense to put LatencyMon’s temporary file rspDisMonLog.etl to a small RAM disk using a symlink.
