Windows 10: Latest Cumulative updates will not add to OS Image file using schedule updates on SCCM,...

using SCCM Schedule Updates to add new patches to OS images from the SCCM console but no luckCumulative update: KB5040427any idea what could be the reason? is there any fix for that?

Windows 10 - Some parts of the UI not working after the latest cumulative update

I'm running Windows 10 build 18362.295. Last day i checked for updates and installed the available cumulative update including the OS security updates. After the installation of these updates i started facing the below issues which happens often (sometime everything is working properly)

• Some parts of the GUI (on every window) is not working
  
• I'm not able to use my touchpad gesture controls
  
• Not able to click task bar icons, start button or anything on my task bar
  
• It automatically triggers right click
  

I tried these methods to solve the issue:

• Tried uninstalling the latest cumulative updates, visiting Installed updates. But it is not showing uninstall option. I also tried the command line method but that too didn't work.

I'm able to do all UI interaction using only keyboard, but not able to do the same using my external mouse or touch pad. As already mentioned these issues started after the recent updates. I tried searching google, but no where i found any useful information or problem similar to this.

As pointed out by @john, i was not on the latest build. So i checked for updates again and installed updates.

Windows Media Player not working after security update (KB4550922) installed through SCCM 1902 offline servicing on Windows 10 1803 Enterprise OS Build 17134.753 WIM image

Hi team,

I am working as SCCM administrator in one company where desktops and laptops are running with Windows 10 1803 Enterprise OS.

This OS also updated with March 2020 cumulative update and Serving stack updates in SCCM 1902 OSD WIM image.

As per my job responsibility, every month i am doing this schedule updates for Windows 10 1803 Enterprise OS in SCCM 1902 OSD.

In the month of April 2020 once i added the KB4550922 patch in WIM image and installed the same update WIM in test system through OSD task sequence, i am see that the Window Media Player not working.

Whenever running the App, there is no window open and checked from task manger that within 1 second it getting stopped.

I could not able to find any error logs in the event viewer related with application error.

also i tried multiple troubleshooting like disable and enable Media feature from control panel turn on or off windows features options.

that also not help.

also tried to use troubleshooting option for Windows media player settings and library and DVD to find out whether any error showing or not.

but that also not help.

To overcome on this issue, i have used another Windows 10 WIM image file where schedule updated installed till February 2020 through SCCM offline service without doing any further schedule update.

and i used this WIM in SCCM task sequence and installed the same in test system and found that Windows medial player is working fine.

Checked from this below article and found that April 2020 month patch having Fix and quality improvement for Windows Media also. But still getting problem in my workstation environment.

One thing i need to update here that if we deploy and install the April 2020 security update on Windows 10 running system, then there is no problem for Windows medial player. it is working fine. only the problem after schedule update happening from SCCM 1902 OSD
offline servicing.

I have checked Offline servicing log that there is not error message and it showing "update binary was successfully updated in the mounted image"

As i could not able to identify what actually the problem here so need your valuable support to rectify this problem urgently.

Microsoft controversially brings cumulative updates to W7 & W8.1

So much for October. My server, the W7 box, and the W8.1 machines in the house all did Cumulative Updates today, outside of the normal patch cycle.

Nothing new on the W10 boxes, which is why I think it is this schedule that @qubit did the OP on.
