Windows 10: Latest update killed BT and external monitors

Help. The latest W11 update has killed BT and access to external monitors. What's more it has corrupted my last saved restore point. DISM did not help either. Thank you Microsoft for buggering up my Sunday. Has anyone got an idea sans a hard reset?

External monitor blanking often

Please answer these questions to assist you better.

• What is the make and model of your computer and external monitor?
• Have you installed all pending Windows and driver updates?
• Do you get any error message?

I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates in your PC and also update Display drivers. Follow the steps below.

Step 1: I would suggest you to check and install any latest Windows Updates available.

• Go to Start and then Settings.
• Click on Update and Recovery.
• Check for updates under
  Windows Updates.
• Restart the system and check if the issue is resolved.

Using a variety of HP machines

Latest windows update changes the graphics driver from

• Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 version 23.20.16.4849

to

• Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 version 26.20.100.7156

When this is done, the computers all exhibit the same behaviour: monitors flash on and off and back on again at random intervals.

Solution so far: roll back the driver, kill Windows Update for Drivers.

Can you also please check your latest updates and remove this update?

 

External Monitor with Quicken

It is possible that the display resolution automatically adjusts after connecting to an external monitor. For us to properly isolate this issue, we have some questions for you:

• Are you experiencing the same issue even without using the Quicken tool?
• Have you checked if the display resolution settings of the Surface device and the external monitor is the same?
• Have you tried checking for a graphics device driver update?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done to isolate the issue?
