Windows 10: Latest update wiped my desktop icons away, no minus 0r minimize button at top of logged in page

WHY does M.S. put out Updates that cause much frustration for we consumers BEFORE you check them out to see if the update causes any issues?

I finally got my PC about where i wanted it , found this new update and POW as the title states Desktop icons GONE and all I have is the OLD classic type in front of the backround picture; i.e. 6 or 7 large icons , 3 for my games 1 personalization & MS Edge & Settings .

PLEASE help with a simple FIX.

The print and email icons are missing next to the minimize and maximize buttons (AOL Desktop Gold)

The print and email icon options are missing after installing the aol desktop gold. They use to be next to the favorites, minimize and maximize buttons at top right. Will these features be added?

• Is the issue particular to the Comcast?
• Have you installed all the pending updates?
• Did you try changing icons of other shortcuts?

Follow the steps and check if it helps:

Step 1: Press Windows+I to open Settings panel, and click
Personalization to access Personalization settings.

Step 2: Tap Change desktop icons on the top left in the Personalization window.

Step 3: In the Desktop Icon Settings window, select the icon of

Step 4: Choose a new icon from the list, and tap OK.

Step 5: Click OK to confirm the change.

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
