I've really had it with Windows 10 now. The latest upgrade made my computer slow to a crawl, and disabled my ability to change the features on my Logitech mouse. The mouse now moves 1:1, so that I must move it 18" to get from one side of the screen to the other. The Logitech website claims the mouse is for Windows 7, not 10, so I must buy a new mouse?
It worked fine before this last upgrade.

I would really like to go back to Windows 7, but my restore disks don't seem to work. Perhaps buying Windows 7 disks has become worth it.

Microsoft has shown their incompetence with their latest upgrade. We used to run a program to optimize compiled code to make it faster. That concept must be unknown to Microsoft.

    :)

  2. Windows update

The recent update has crippled my computer. Mouse freezes, Acrobat freezes, printer takes forever, typing is very slow. Any suggestions to fix this mess?? Seriously considering buying an Apple computer.

Edge, & other W10 Apps Slow as Fuark?

Anyone else experiencing significant slowness on W10 since the latest update?

Opening and navigating in and out of any W10 interface apps is absurdly slow. I know it's not my machine I've got an i7-5820k, 16GB of DDR4 & 3 250GB SSDs in a Raid0 doing very minimal work. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing this?

What is the setting for pointer speed in mouse properties?

  5. No, no they haven't. It should be common sense by now, but if it was an issue with the upgrade, we'd all be having the issue.

Most likely, it is a mouse setting. I am typing this on a computer with a Logitech 518. If I hit the small buttons on top, I can make my mouse do the very same thing you are experiencing.

Every time I start up the computer I have to reset the mouse pointer options to fast from medium. This M510 mouse is not liked by the latest Windows 10. I would expect it to not change the settings back on shut-down, but that seems to be happening.

    Is this your mouse?

Also, if you haven't already, you should go to control panel>system>system advanced settings>Hardware>Device Installation settings>select No. This stops Windows 10 from installing the old drivers that the hardware mfr's submitted to WHQL labs. You're better off always going to mfr for drivers.

If that's an all black wireless mouse, I have one and it works on three separate Windows 10 laptops without issue. As I said above, the problem isn't Windows 10 "being crap". I don't have any Logitech software installed on any of those three systems. I also have cleanly installed Windows 10 on all three systems, so is your install an upgrade?

Edit: yes, that's the mouse I have. It is completely compatible with Windows 10.

Norton Internet Security had failed to upgrade itself properly. It had to be totally removed using the Norton removal tool, then reinstalled. That solved most of the slow computer problems. Who knew?
The mouse problem has been solved by downloading Logitech's Setpoint software.

I am having similar problem. I am running Windows 10 Home version on an HP Pavilion Touch laptop with 8GB RAM. When the latest windows update installed on my system my system slowed down to a crawl where I was unable to work. When I realized the update was applied I performed a point in time restore prior to the update and my system started performing again. The problem is that late evening windows installed the update again. At one time I was able to turn on metered data usage it prevented the updates but they coded over that options and now I have no control. Any suggestion how I can get around this issue? Your help appreciated.
