Windows 10: Latest Windows 10 Update Corrupted fingerprint and password logins

Updated my HP laptop 21H1 on 25/05/2021. I am now unable to sign in with fingerprint or password since this update. I have tried numerous suggestions but without success. For example, when I start my laptop and unplug x3 I can enter the various modes, ie Repair, Command Prompt, Reset, etc BUT when I go to any of these I am asked for the password which I know which it does not accept. What can I do to repair this. I have also tried using the usb with windows 21H1 on to repair or replace the OS but unfortunately when I do this I am informed that a driver is missing! What to do?

Fingerprint removed during upgrade and i can't login !!

I suggest you to login to the guest account and update the drivers for fingerprint by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + R and type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• Right click on the driver for Fingerprint and select the option to update the driver and follow the prompts to update.

Leaked Windows 8.1 Build Reveals Fingerprint Login – Screenshot



Word is that Microsoft will introduce fingerprint support in Windows 8.1, but the company has remained completely tight-lipped on the feature lineup of its next OS.

A new screenshot that reached the web a few hours ago reveals that Microsoft is indeed working on fingerprint authentication for Windows 8.1, even though it’s not yet clear if such an option would also be available in the stable build of the OS or not.

According to WinBeta.org, fingerprint support has been spotted in a recently-leaked development build of Windows 8.1, so chances are that it’s actually the preview version to be released in June.

As you most likely heard, Microsoft would unveil the first public beta of the Windows 8 update next month at the BUILD developer conference, while the stable release is expected later this year.

Windows 10 not offering fingerprint login?

Hi,

I am a bit confused right now. That guide told me to do either

• 
  If you're using a local account, use your password hint as a reminder.
  

or

• If you have Windows 8.1, you'll need to reinstall Windows.

but since my laptop had windows 7 before upgrading it to windows 10 and I do not have password hint, I am still locked out.

I understand this may seem to be some thief trying to gain access to laptop that was stolen but it is not. I have no idea if there is even a slight possibility to get that fingerprint reader working or not without access to files? That reader (and also knowing
what is inside this laptop) proves this is my own laptop.

So, short version:

• I used to have win7
• I used Fujitsu Lifebook E-series fingerprint reader to login
• Forgot password after few years of using just fingerprint reader
• I installed win10
• Not getting a change to use fingerprint reader to login after installation

Any ideas? Is there any change to get the password changed or am I doomed to lose everything in that hard drive?
