Windows 10: Latest Windows update breaking search bar?

Recently installed the latest windows update 23H2 and since then apart from opening the start menu having a few seconds of delay, the search bar seems to be completely broken. Whenever I click on the search function, it just completely closes the start menu and nothing else happens. Using Everything I can also see a searchhost.exe crash debug forming I've tried the dism/sfc scannow but those did not end up working

To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue occurs when there is a corrupted system file that is causing the case, and for us to sort out the problem, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Repair built-in apps such as the Search bar, Start menu, and Settings:

Open Powershell with Admin or CMD with Admin (Press Windows key + X then click Windows Powershell(Admin))

Copy the line of command to Powershell then press enter:

Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Then hit Enter, once the process is done, restart the PC and check.

If none will work from the above solution, I suggest doing an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.
